Nicholas McCarthy) \nNicholas McCarthy\, Sophia Benton\, Tomas Klement pianists\nBristol Ensemble\nJohn Pickard conductor \nJoin us for a unique concert and CD launch celebrating three virtuoso left hand pianists. \nThey will be performing classics by Scriabin\, Liszt and Rachmaninov alongside world premieres by Shaftesbury composer and teacher Sadie Harrison. \nThe Pasture & Storm project brings together a fabulous group of international musicians and features renowned pianist Nicholas McCarthy. Nicholas’s dazzling artistry and advocacy for disabled people have made him one of the world’s most sought after performers and motivational speakers. \nNicholas will be joined by two other exceptional pianists\, Tomáš Klement and Sophia Benton (a left hand only pianist currently studying at the Welsh College of Music and Drama) and the Bristol Ensemble conducted by John Pickard. \nPasture & Storm is a kaleidoscope of musical moods and influences – joyful dances based on medieval tunes\, poignant laments from Afghanistan\, the drama of a Spanish bullfight and a gentle pastorale at dusk. \nProfits from the event will go towards the UK’s One Handed Musical Instrument Trust (music-making for people with physical disabilities) and the International Campaign for Afghan Musicians.
