DESCRIPTION:Holst St Paul’s Suite\nFinzi Romance for Strings Op.11\nJohn Marsh Quantocks Suite \nShowcasing the string section of the Ensemble\, this programme features some of the string-only repertoire’s best-loved and engaging music. Finzi’s Romance is also unmistakably English but with a poignant and elegiac quality\, whilst Holst’s St Paul’s Suite draws on traditional ballads and dance for its inspiration. John Marsh’s Quantocks Suite is a set of evocative music portraits of the beautiful Somerset countryside. \nTea and home made cakes served at 4pm. \nTickets £15 (£13 for those on low incomes)\, available online from Eventbrite (plus booking fees) on the door.
