DESCRIPTION:Preludes Music\, the education arm of the Bristol Ensemble\, continues its work in areas of Bristol that are experiencing high levels of economic disadvantage and aims to put music at the heart of every child’s education. By doing so we improve confidence\, co-ordination\, speech and language and benefit all other areas of their learning. \nPreludes Music has been running successfully since 2009 in several schools areas of Bristol. It is the most extensive project of its type in the country and grew from discussions between Roger Huckle of the Bristol Ensemble\, Professor Leslie Bunt of the University of the West of England and James Wetz a former Head Teacher. \nFind out more at www.bristolensemble.com/preludes

SUMMARY:Music for a Blue Planet
DESCRIPTION:Sit back and contemplate our Blue Planet whilst being immersed in wonderful music inspired by planet Earth. \nThe backdrop to this fantastic concert is the extraordinary Gaia installation hanging in the centre of Bristol Cathedral. The Bristol Ensemble will take you on an incredible journey of music inspired by nature\, from the BBC series Blue Planet by George Fenton to the Four Seasons by four different composers Einaudi\, Richter\, Piazzolla and Vivaldi. The timeless Spiegel im Spiegel by Arvo Part and Tundra by Ole Gjeilo gives you space to meditate in this unique concert that will transport you to an off planet experience! Conducted by Roger Huckle\, this promises to be a night to remember. \nThe programme includes:\nMusic from the BBC Blue Planet series\nBlue Planet Main Theme — George Fenton\nSpinning Dolphins\nThe Sardine Run\nAngel Falls\nOur Planet is a Blue Planet \nThe Four Seasons\nPrimavera – Spring — Einaudi\nSummer — Max Richter\nAutumn — Piazzolla\nWinter — Vivaldi \nMeditation\nSpiegel im Spiegel — Arvo Part\nEarth Song — Einaudi\nPetricor — Einaudi\nTundra —Ola Gjeilo \nA bar will be available throughout the event. Alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks will be available. Card only. \nChildren must be accompanied by an adult. Please ensure there is a ratio of no more than four children to one adult. Children’s ear defenders are available to borrow on a first come first served basis.
