DESCRIPTION:Celebrating – to the day – the 50th anniversary of the release of Pink Floyd’s iconic album Dark Side of the Moon\, the Bristol Ensemble – Bristol’s only professional chamber orchestra – performs an exhilarating chamber orchestral version for 17 players that accentuates the lush\, multi-layered texture of the original. DESCRIPTION:Elgar Introduction and Allegro\nHolst St Paul’s Suite\nVaughan Williams Five Variants of Dives and Lazarus\nFinzi Romance for String Orchestra Op.11 \nShowcasing the string section of the Ensemble\, this programme features some of the string-only repertoire’s best-loved and engaging music.
