Completing the programme are Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 21 in C major\, known for its elegance and emotional depth\, and Shostakovich’s Gadfly Suite\, originally composed as a film score for a 1955 Soviet adaptation of The Gadfly and particularly beloved for its lyrical string writing and sweeping melodies.
