Songs For Our World: Preludes Music Annual Concert

On Tuesday 19 May, Preludes Music proudly presented its annual concert, Songs For Our World, at the magnificent St Mary Redcliffe Church in Bristol.

The special evening brought together children from schools across the city where Preludes Music delivers its music education programmes. Participating schools included:

  • Badock’s Wood E-ACT Academy
  • Greenfield E-ACT Academy
  • Ilminster Avenue E-ACT Academy
  • Perry Court E-ACT Academy
  • Somerdale Educate Together
  • Redfield Educate Together
  • Oasis Connaught Academy

Pupils from the different schools joined together to perform as a mass choir and orchestra, creating a celebration of music and collaboration. Children also showcased their talents in smaller group performances throughout the concert and we enjoyed a special appearance from the COSMOS Choir from St George’s Bristol.

My daughter attends Ilminster and I’m overjoyed she has learnt the cello, how else would she get this opportunity?

The audience included members of the public, families, friends, and supporters of Preludes Music and the Bristol Ensemble, as well as several distinguished guests:

  • His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant for Bristol, Mrs Peaches Golding OBE CStJ
  • High Sheriff for Bristol, Mrs Anne Nisbet DL
  • Lord Mayor of Bristol, Cllr Yassin Mohamud

Seeing the children sing…with such heart, brought light, joy and a little hope into what can be a dark world! What great work you are doing!
