BE in the Community: Bringing Live Music to Rural Communities

Throughout October, we’ve been delighted to work with the Somerset International Festival of the Arts, supporting its programme of concerts, school visits and educational workshops across North Somerset.

Many of our Bristol Ensemble musicians have been involved in these activities, helping to introduce children and young people to live music while bringing professional performances into communities that might not ordinarily have easy access to classical concerts.

Our work with the festival reflects a wider commitment to making music accessible beyond the traditional concert hall. By collaborating with local organisations, we can combine our musicians’ artistic expertise with the invaluable knowledge, resources and community connections of our regional partners.

Another example is our ongoing partnership with Breathe Music, which brings professional musicians into rural churches and communities, alongside educational workshops for local schools. These projects create opportunities for people of all ages to experience live music close to home, often in beautiful and intimate settings.

For Bristol Ensemble, these partnerships are about much more than individual performances. They’re about building lasting relationships, supporting local cultural life and ensuring that high-quality musical experiences are available to communities throughout the region.
