Olivier Messiaen Quartet for the End of Time

In a change to the previously-advertised programme, Bristol Ensemble performs Olivier Messiaen’s hauntingly beautiful 8-movement work Quartet for the End of Time. Considered to be one of his most important works, Messiaen wrote the piece whilst held as a prisoner of war in German captivity, and it was first performed by his fellow prisoners.

Tea and cakes served at 4pm.
