Julia Myring

Julia joined Preludes Music in September 2023 as a piano tutor, having previously worked as a classroom teacher in primary schools in the Bristol area for over 12 years.  Julia has always enjoyed getting children involved in music and has seen the benefits of how it enhances learning across the curriculum.  It is a real joy for Julia to now be part of a team that helps children to discover their own talents in music.

Music has always played a huge part in Julia’s life, having started to learn the piano at the age of 7 and later the viola. She studied Music and French at university, and continued playing in various ensembles including performing as part of the university orchestra, including a tour in Ireland.  Julia works as a piano tutor at a local school in North Somerset and teaches privately at home.  She continues to be active in music-making and plays the viola in the Long Ashton Orchestra as well as getting together with friends for duets with piano accompaniment.

Julia loves spending time with her family and friends, keeping active with her children and sticking on her muddy boots for new adventures!
