Liz Britton
Liz has been working with Preludes Music since 2021, delivering both instrumental and classroom lessons across Bristol and the South West. She has enjoyed seeing the transformative effect on children’s confidence and wellbeing found through music tuition, and has a passion for creating music with those who need it most.
Liz began her musical journey as a chorister in her home town of Horsham, West Sussex, alongside learning the flute and piano from a young age. She moved to Bristol to complete both her degrees in Music (BA) and Medieval Musicology (MA, Distinction) at the University of Bristol. During this time she held a choral scholarship at Clifton Cathedral, and sang with the University of Bristol Chamber Choir, University Singers, and the Schola Cantorum, while having voice as her first study. Alongside her work with Preludes, Liz runs St George’s Bristol’s Cosmos Children’s choir based out of schools in Knowle West and Hartcliffe, and runs her own private teaching practice for both piano and voice. She also coordinates the outreach work for the professional choir The Fitzhardinge Consort, who have a regular partnership with the Bristol Drugs Project’s Rising Voices choir. Liz also works regularly as a soprano in the South West and Wales, both as a soloist and choral performer.
Outside of teaching, Liz enjoys running, yoga, and has a love for the outdoors.
