Paul Barrett
Paul Studied a postgraduate certificate in Performance at Trinity College of Music with the fantastic Gillian Findlay and was a member of the Southbank Sinfonia.
Paul performs and records with many orchestras including Royal Ballet Sinfonia, Birmingham Royal Ballet, Orchestra Nova, British Sinfonietta, National Symphony Orchestra, English Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra of the Swan, RPO, RPCO, and has performed in the West End and touring shows.
Paul also records for film and television, including for Disney, Amazon, BBC, Aardman Animations, Channel 4, Stuart Hancock, Neil Davidge, Drew Morgan, Eurovision. Recording artists such as Bear’s Den/Paul Frith, Katie Melua, Ivor Novello Award winner Scott Matthews, Christof van de Ven. Recordings at Abbey Road, Real World Studios, Angel Studios.
Paul performed the premiere of Stuart Hancock’s Violin Concerto with Southbank Sinfonia and with St Paul’s Sinfonia, recently it was recorded with BBC Concert Orchestra and Jack Liebeck.
Paul is a member of the Estilo string quartet who have recorded three albums with arrangements by Michelle Taylor Cohen.
Paul has been playing with the Bristol Ensemble since 2012 when he moved to North Somerset with his young family. Paul had previously performed with Roger Huckle in London, and having relocated, soon joined the group for a brilliant concert at the Bristol Beacon performing Beethoven Symphonies 5, 6, and 7 at 5pm, 6pm and 7pm, a fun and slightly tiring start to performing in Bristol.
Paul loves living in North Somerset with Mary and their two boys and with their overly enthusiastic and lively Collie-Spaniel cross dog, Danny.
