Our next project is ‘Symphony of the World’, a major education and community project supported by Arts Council England, Quartet Community Foundation and Bristol Masons Charity. The project is taking place in Bristol this September, October and November.

St George’s Takeover Day 2024
Children from four different Preludes Music schools joined us at St George’s Bristol for a day of making, learning, singing and playing music.
Preludes Music Event at St Mary Redcliffe Church 2023
Annual concert featuring children from all of our Preludes Music schools, singing songs and playing pieces learned on their instruments throughout the year.

Arts Council Project on The Lark Ascending
Children at St Bernard’s RC created beautiful pieces of music, letters and artwork inspired by Ralph Vaughan Williams’ The Lark Ascending for its 100th anniversary. Children in Bankleaze and Long Cross also wrote music based on larks and sang Vaughan Williams folk songs.
Bristol Ensemble Classical Series – Beethoven and Mozart
Children from Bankleaze Oasis Primary School attended a rehearsal with one of the greatest pianists of our time; Andrei Gavrilov. They later performed before the main concert at St George’s Bristol.
Bankleaze and Ilminster Avenue attended the rehearsal of legendary French violinist Gilles Apap and the Bristol Ensemble before their evening concert. Preludes Music children performed before the main concert at Bristol Beacon. Gilles Apap came into schools to talk and perform to the children.
Inspire Day for all Oasis Schools in Bristol about WW1
A special day based on WW1 commemoration in 2018 with all the Oasis schools in Bristol. Children wrote poems which they read alongside music undertones at St Mary Redcliffe Church. A very moving day!
Bristol Harbour Festival – Arts Council Project on Handel’s Water Music
Celebrating the 300th anniversary of Handel’s Water Music, children from Ilminster Avenue E-Act Academy and Oasis Academy Long Cross performed their new composition on the SS Great Britain and BBC Radio Bristol stage in Brunel Square.
Malago Partnership Concert at St Mary Redcliffe Church featuring dance
The Malago Partnership was a group of schools, all built near the river Malago, that got together for CPD and Preludes Music concerts. Three concerts were held at St Mary Redcliffe Church and one at Bristol Beacon.
The line up also included Knowle DGE Academy, Ilminster Avenue E-Act Academy, Greenfield E-Act Academy, Victoria Park Primary School, Headley Park Primary School, Cheddar Grove Primary School, St Peter’s C of E Primary School, Parsons Street Primary School, Bedminster Down Secondary.
