Easter Holiday Club | April 2025

This year we brought our Preludes Music Holiday Club back to St Nicholas of Tolentine Primary School. Over 4 days, we did a range of activities including writing music, playing instruments, games, cooking classes and creative workshops, culminating towards a performance for their parents at the end of the week!

St George’s Takeover Day 2025

Children from four different Preludes Music schools joined us at St George’s Bristol for a day of making, learning, singing and playing music.

Preludes Music and Cosmos Choir Festive Singalong 2024

Preludes Music team up with Cosmos Choir for a lunchtime concert of festive music at St George’s Bristol.

Symphony of the World 2024

Our biggest Preludes Music project to date! Children from 3 different Preludes Music Schools worked together with various musicians from Bristol to compose their own pieces of music, culminating in two performances at Trinity Arts Centre and St George’s Bristol, with features on BBC Points West and BBC Radio Bristol.

Preludes Music Event 15th Anniversary Concert at St Mary Redcliffe Church 2024

A celebration of 15 years of Preludes Music featuring children from all of our Preludes Music schools, singing songs and playing pieces learned on their instruments throughout the year.

PAST PRELUDES MUSIC EVENTS

Arts Council Project on The Lark Ascending

Children at St Bernard’s RC created beautiful pieces of music, letters and artwork inspired by Ralph Vaughan Williams’ The Lark Ascending for its 100th anniversary. Children in Bankleaze and Long Cross also wrote music based on larks and sang Vaughan Williams folk songs. 

Bristol Harbour FestivalArts Council Project on Handel’s Water Music 

Celebrating the 300th anniversary of Handel’s Water Music, children from Ilminster Avenue E-Act Academy and Oasis Academy Long Cross performed their new composition on the SS Great Britain and BBC Radio Bristol stage in Brunel Square.  

Malago Partnership Concert at St Mary Redcliffe Church featuring dance

The Malago Partnership was a group of schools, all built near the river Malago, that got together for CPD and Preludes Music concerts. Three concerts were held at St Mary Redcliffe Church and one at Bristol Beacon.

The line up also included Knowle DGE Academy, Ilminster Avenue E-Act Academy, Greenfield E-Act Academy, Victoria Park Primary School, Headley Park Primary School, Cheddar Grove Primary School, St Peter’s C of E Primary School, Parsons Street Primary School, Bedminster Down Secondary.
